With Spring being just a few days away in South Africa, there is a sense of excitement in the air, because anyone who’s ever visited Nelspruit this time of year will know, the Lowveld in Spring is simply spectacular. To be fair, most parts of Mpumalanga is beautifully green and warm all year round, but at Vineyard on the Hill, we find this time of year is especially thrilling as we emerge from the depths of Winter into the warm light of Spring.
Here are just a few reasons why we (and you too will) love Nelspruit in Spring:
As we prepare to shed our winter coats, we are looking forward to all the treasures that Spring will bring. Longer days, warm afternoon dips in the pool, beautiful African sunsets, evenings spent gathered around a bonfire and of course the Jacaranda Trees covering our town in a lush carpet of violet blue.
It is a wonderful time for outdoor activities. If you are planning a holiday filled with adventure sports, fun outdoor activities or camping in The Kruger National Park, spring is probably the best time to do so. You will find the temperatures are in your favour; it is nice and warm with a pleasant breeze during the day, with evenings perfect for stargazing or an outdoor braai.
As if anyone needed more of an excuse to throw a party. Springtime is certainly the best time for garden gatherings, no matter the occasion. In Spring, we love hosting everything from kitchen teas to elegant evening parties at our Guest House. And the best part? We do the catering, decorating and setup of the venue…so you and your guest can just relax and enjoy yourselves.
Something else that arrives with springtime, is of course wedding season! We are excited to be welcoming and accommodating guests who flock from all over the world to celebrate their loved-ones’ wedding festivities.
